Party Poker New Jersey has just made the headlines by announcing a far-reaching partnership with some of the most popular sports teams in the nation. The Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) and the New Jersey Devils (NHL) are both under the same ownership. This owner has struck a deal with Party Poker New Jersey, a division of Gibraltar Digital Entertainment. While the exact terms of the deal have not been officially released, the contract is being rumored to link the organizations for a number of years into the future. Within the garden state, Party Poker NJ is the leading provider for online poker and digital gaming. This deal also represents the very first of its kind. Never before has a gaming organization teamed up with a professional sports organization within the United States on this scale.
A Different Approach to the Game
The potential of online gaming has been booming in New Jersey since it recently became legal late in 2012. This is also not the first major partnership to be formed by Gibraltar with an eye on major expansion. They also recently formed operating partnerships with the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City. Representatives of the 76ers have publicly announced that the move represents a symbol that they plan to move into the future doing things differently while also thinking outside of the box when it comes to expansion and exposure. Some reports have put the deal in the neighborhood of $10 million. What is known regarding the partnership is the emphasis that will be placed on social media and other forms of advertising.
Building a Name
Both parties are extremely interested in expanding their potential when it comes to digital assets and and mobile technology. The deal also promises that Party Poker NJ will have its name and logo prominently displayed at gaming arenas and televised broadcasts all around the nation. In return, Party Poker NJ will be creating like advertisements for both teams that will help to foster a mutually beneficial business relationship. Gibraltar Digital Entertainment is not limiting itself to sporting teams within the United States either. They are forming multiple partnerships with European sports teams that utilize the same types of campaigns and advertising. These partnerships incorporate six leading football teams in Europe that include Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Olympique de Marseille in France.
